With an increasing number of digital camera, many people have started to buy Digital Photo Frames, but sometimes they would be confused by many of the parameters, such as Digital Photo Frame LCD, Contrast, Brightness, Features etc, Same to buy LCD Displays, the main parameters of liquid crystal display are: screen size, display resolution, contrast, brightness, viewing angle, this guidence detailed the LCD Resolution parameters, and let you know which one is your best choice.

The resolution of a digital photo frame is measured in a 'pixel by pixel' format. A photo frame with a resolution of 720x480 will have a width of 720 pixels and a height of 480 pixels (for a total resolution of 345,600). For the best clarity, look for the highest resolution. A typical 'Wide VGA' (WVGA) resolution is 800x480.

Screens on digital photo frames usually have an aspect ratio of 4:3, like a traditional TV, or a 16:9 aspect ratio like a widescreen TV or the widescreen laptop resolution you're running, email and IM clients on, though some laptops display in 16:10. Check which options each frame offers – the best photo frames have functions that allow you to choose how the frame handles images that don't fit its aspect ratio. Options include displaying widescreen images on a 4:3 frame with black bars at the top and bottom, or stretching a 4:3 image to fit a widescreen.

The resolution of an digital picture frames LCD display is measured by the number of image pixels the screen is capable of displaying.  The higher the number of pixels (or dots), the higher the resolution of the image will be.  Higher resolutions ultimately determine more detail in an image, and thus a higher image quality.  A physically smaller LCD display will limit the resolution of the display.

Regular Resolution
Resolution of 15'' digital frame is 1024 x768 pixels
Resolution of 12'' digital frame is 800x600 pixels
Resolution of 10'' digital frame is 640x480 pixels
Resolution of 9'' digital frame is 560x420 pixels

the general 600W megapixel camera can be sold for 2848 * 2136 photos, of our home LCD monitors generally only 19-inch, maximum resolution of only 1440 * 1280, and our Digital Photo Frame only 7-inch screen, the better the display resolution is only 800 x 600?

One thought when comparing resolutions is that, your computer display (typical sizes are anywhere from 14” to 21”) can have resolutions as low as 640 x 480 and as high as 2500 x 1600.  However, most current laptop and PC monitors are set between 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768, while topping out at 1600 x 1200.  Compare those resolutions to a 10.4” digital picture frame with an 800 x 600 resolution and you can discern that a digital picture frame has great resolution for a smaller screen size.
